Your classroom setup may be done by now, but we have a few more fresh favorites that debuted on the Newsela platform this past month! Science articles on Newsela are among my favorites (which are also great for ELA). Explain headline-grabbing phenomena with scientific resources that your students understand. Demystifying some of the recent climate tragedies students have seen, and maybe even experienced, can help to build understanding and assuage fear.
